MCIW Women of Wisdom and the
MCIW Religious Department, Chaplain Lettie Carr
Women of Wisdom wishes to thank all our prayer warriors who helped us offer our collective prayers for our Country. The theme "Pray for America" allowed us to pray for a great variety of issues; military, family, administrations, both governmental and institutional. The presence of representatives from the Secretary of Correction, Deputy Secretary Rhea Harris and Donna Hill from the Parole Commission and all the other organizations make this a true day of prayer. We even had a group of women from the Women of Hope group at a prison in Pennsylvania attend to pray with us. God is great and we thank Him for His presence. Warden Parrish gave a word of welcome and encouragement. Thanks to all who participated. Let us know how God answered your prayers. We collected prayer requests from the residents and they are to be prayed over during Sunday Services at MCIW. May God continue to bless the Women of Wisdom and all our friends.

Even though we are incarcerated, we share the same concerns. This was an opportunity to collectively join with people and advocates outside these walls to pray with us for these issues.
The facts remain that women, men and children in prison and on the outside feel the same concerning matters of this world. Our prayers and feelings are the same. May we be united in prayer.
Even though I wasn't home with my family, I have since felt loved and I appreciate that with all my heart.
At this time, I would like to thank God for watching over me and maintaining things for me at home especially my mother. I'm truly thankful to have my daughter, Samantha, to be the most wonderful person in my life and being able to make me strong. God Bless.
The National Day of Prayer was very rewarding for all the people of the World, praying for me and everyone that needed prayer for whatever purpose. God just let's his blessings flow.
The National Day of Prayer was an awesome event for me. My family was included in my prayer request. I am proud to be a member of W.O.W. at MCIW.
Thank you for being able to participate in the 3rd Annual National Day of Prayer. The experience was a great exit to my stay at MCIW. Thank God and you will hear more from me.
I want to give a shout-out to God for showing up at the National Day of Prayer. For making me a new person with a new heart and new gifts (W.O.W.) to serve Him.
My name is Janet Gilmore. I'm glad and grateful to be a part of W.O.W. on the National Day of Prayer. I really enjoyed my time of prayer for the things concerning us. I thank God and believe that God is already answering the prayers that were offered up to Him.
National Day of Prayer was an eye opening experience for me. It gave me a new appreciation for prayer, sisterhood and the power of God.
The shout-outs were very powerful for the National Day of Prayer. It was very uplifting. It gave me peace.
W.O.W.'s 3rd National Day of Prayer was peaceful, exhilarating, audacious and successful. Each and every woman who attended is a woman who made our vision a dream come true. Every aspect from beginning to end was a blessing. Thank you to all W.O.W. women over the World.
A wonderful night was had by all attendees. Thank you.
I really enjoyed being the Mistress of Ceremonies and the prayers were awesome. The day after I am still filled with the Holy Spirit and have so much peace deep within. God is Awesome.
The shout-outs were a thoughtful part of the program. The inclusion of various religious groups showed how powerful prayer is in bringing people together.
The National Day of Prayer was truly a day that I will remember for the rest of my life. Everyone that attended this affair truly shined. God was in the atmosphere.Thank you. Amen.

Kudos to Ms. Etta Myers and the MCE Sew Shops. Gwen Levi designed a banner and Etta was able to have it sewn in time for the National Day of Prayer. It will be displayed at all future observances. Maybe I can get a picture of it soon.
